In collaboration with Living-in.EU, the Big Data Test Infrastructure (BDTI) Team is organizing an information session open to all Living-in.EU signatories to present the BDTI initiative and show how it can support public administrations at a national, regional and local level in re-using their public sector data.

But first, what is Living-in.EU?

Living-in.EU is a movement launched in 2019 by Eurocities, OASC, ENoLL and with the support of the European Commission, the Finnish EU Presidency, and the Committee of the Regions.

This movement promotes a European approach to digital transformation of cities and communities through multi-level collaboration between all levels of government, to ensure technological leadership while respecting European values and diversity, as well as individuals’ digital rights.’

Living-in.EU in practice

More than 150 public administrations have already signed the Living-in.EU declaration as they want to explore the use of digital solutions to address a range of interconnected challenges. By signing the declaration and joining this movement, the Living-in.EU will provide you with their network to connect with other cities and regions, will enable you to join working groups, will help you to set up your own data space and will link you with other Digital Europe Programme initiatives.

What to expect at the BDTI information session

The BDTI has already helped public sector administration to:

  • Derive insights from the data collected during the covid-19 pandemic to ensure lockdown measures were lifted in a responsible and controlled manner.

  • Help the European Blood Alliance to investigate therapy efficiency for COVID-19

  • Optmised public procurement in Norway

If you are interested in learning how they did it, in this information session we will provide you more information about the open-source BDTI stack, how to access it and use it successfully for you to start your pilot and achieve your objectives.

All Living-in.EU signatories are welcomed to join the online session. Public authorities' representative which are not yet part of the movement are also welcomed to join. In that case, the Secretariat will come back to them sharing some more information about Living-in.EU movement.

During this session, public administrations will get to learn more about BDTI and its different use cases, but also to share their experiences in data analytics and ask the questions they may have.
