Spain’s Ministry of Health is calling on the country’s autonomous regions to support national ePrescription and other eHealthcare solutions, Health Minister Dolors Montserrat told the Parliament in February.
Of the country’s 17 autonomous communities and 2 autonomous cities, interoperable electronic prescription systems exist in only five, the Canary Islands, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha, Valencia, and Navarra. Austria to complete roll-out…
The government of Austria intends to implement its ELGA electronic health record system country-wide this spring. Late last year, the roll out of ELGA was paused following a conflict over an ePrescription pilot, involving social insurers and medical trade groups.
According to reports in the Austrian press, the doctors said the system was unsecure, and the insurers claimed that medical practitioners used outdated computer systems. Sweden unveils 2017-2019 eHea…
The government of Sweden has unveiled its 2017-2019 eHealth action plan. The government wants to improve collaboration, coordination, and increase the efficiency of organisations involved in eHealth care.
As part of the plan, a national forum on eHealth standardisation will be created. This forum is to coordinate the development of standards related to eHealth. Sweden also wants to build better systems for monitoring and surveillance, and shore up security of eHealth solutions.

The French government is encouraging citizens to get involved in the debate on sharing and using of healthcare data. A public survey and two workshops were organised, in May and June. The results are to be used for a conference on 4 July.
